Canvas printing can be printed on any size canvas, normally over a 30mm depth profiled plywood frame, with hanging accessories.

Canvas printing is where a canvas material is stretched over a wooden frame (called a stretcher) with an image printed on it using an inkjet printer. This is normally done by a professional printing comapny with teh correct printing equipments and skills to strech the canvas over the wooden frame. Canvas printing is an effective, and long lasting method of printing and light weight in comparison to a glass - framed picture, the canvas printing reduces your cost by not having to pay for a frame, and allows you to focus on the image instead.

What images can be printed on canvas?

Any image, as long as the resolution is set on high. Images are taken from photographs, stock images, and printed to look as close to the real picture as possible. Canvasses are primed to prevent the ink from leaching / running

What material is used for canvas printing?

Poly canvas are generally used and have taken over from  cotton canvasses. Canvasses are cpvered with a primer to prevent leaking of the ink

Canvas is a also made from plain tightly woven material which is extremely durable, allowing the ink and image to last longer.

Offset printing is done for reproduction of original artworks

Offset printing is when an ink image is transferred from a plate to a rubber blanket. For the purpose of this page, we are not delving into offset printing, but rather inkjet printing for canvasses. 

What is a shaped canvas?

A shaped canvas takes on an altered shape. This process is used more with painting processes for effect. It gives a multidimensional effect. This method was used in certain works often in the 1960’s.

What size can I do a canvas print on? Canvas size depends on the customer, but can be as large as 1.5 m or even larger

Large printing requires large format printers and a high definition photo / image. Pixels

How is canvas printing done? Inkjet printers are generally used for printing. 

When choosing an image remember that the canvas printing is done with the printed image being taken  over the edge of the cavas to avoid having a white open area on the frame
